I recently upgraded my Firefox browser to the latest stable release (supposedly) by Mozilla which is version 3.0 (record number of downloads in a span of 24hours!)
Only to have the browser consistently hang after a few hours (~ave.3hrs) of continued use. After several instances of the error, I still couldn't find any direct or indirect reason or cause for the crash. I had had almost decided on waiting for the next minor update release. At this point I de-installed already. This is where I realized that I was not only a Firefox user (local), I had a legacy firefox version (portable) also currently installed, and its version was 2. This has become my best guess for the issue's root cause. So I took steps and de-install the portable version and re-installed Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and so far it has hung only once - at least a tangible improvement and hypothetically just a residual effect of a non re-started system.
Anyways, back to my clicks!
